My series was inspired from a portrait drawing I had created of saran wrap manipulating the face, dealing with the concept of confinement and control. In this series, I wanted to use plastic as a tool to transparently abstract the surface of the human form. I want to evoke thought, emotion, and tension from the viewer with these intimate pieces. The subject in this series has evolved from a submissive ally to the cellophane, to becoming a monarch of the material, using it as a tool of sensuality and conviction.
Building on a legacy since 1891, we embrace visual exploration as critical to the voice of our time.
