My interest in art began as a child. I used to stand behind my Grandfather as he worked at his easel with a gooseneck lamp shining on his canvas and his hands full of brushes. The smell of oil paint will still take me back to those moments when I watched mesmerized as he worked.
My experiences are the impulse that influences my work. For years it was my internal world that was reflected. My focus was human relationships and the processes and forces that shape these. After recent travels to the Western United States, I have found myself looking outward and the natural world is beginning to call out to me. Using color in an intuitive way, I allow the images to reveal themselves, expressing the layered quality of time and space.
