I am an oil painter who paints in the Old Classical Multi-Layered Tradition, which is based on Fat-Over-Lean Principles. Adhering to the old traditions, most of my pigments are Hand-Ground, with some containing Lead, such as Lead-Tin Yellow, Red Lead and Stack White (The Original FLAKE White) and more. For a Medium, I use either a Heat-Bodied Linseed, or Walnut Oil with the addition of a few drops of Amber Resin. The Still Life genre has become my signature work, I do however paint landscapes and an occasional portrait/figurative study. Typically, Still Life compositions tend to place the viewer at a distance from the objects portrayed, however I prefer engaging the viewer in an up-close and personal relationship with my Still Life objects, preferably flowers, fruit, vegetables and plants. In depicting the beauty of God's creations in a variety of settings, I attempt to express them beyond their mere face value and reveal their "Divine" attributes.
