My artwork is a collection of the thoughts and inspirations that come to me through out the day. Weather it be from listening to a song, reading something in a book or just day dreaming while at work. It all gets incorporated into each piece.
Ive always been a fan of storytelling. Growing up fantasy and folklore were always my favorite genres. Now I start to think about their place in todays world. Where would these stories fit into modern day life? What kind of stories will be remembered in the future?I try to give each painting just enough information so that the viewers imagination starts racing to create their own personal story for each piece. I believe that is the key to a good painting.
In 2010 I started experimenting with Acrylic ink as a way of painting. Before then I had mainly done charcoal drawings, mainly portrait and life studies. Crossing over to painting Ive continued to use the simple black and white theme. This gives each piece a mysterious and somber which draws in a viewers curiosity while also amplifying the minimal amount of color used.
Giving me the opportunity to become a storyteller for each painting is a very large driving force into come up with newer and better pieces.
