The Philadelphia Water Color Society will be hosting the 119h Anniversary International Exhibition of Works on Paper. The exhibition will include not only water colors, but soft pastels, acrylic, graphite, gouache, charcoal, pen & ink, colored pencil and hand pulled prints. PWCS was founded in 1900 to bring attention to those artists using aqueous media and held its first exhibition at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
The Juror of Selection for the 119th exhibition is internationally acclaimed watercolorist Joseph Zbukvic of Melbourne, Australia. The Judge of Awards is Liz Haywood-Sullivan; President Emerita of the International Association of Pastel Societies (2013 to 2017) where she managed three international conventions and twelve international exhibitions. Liz teaches nationally and internationally and will be leading a workshop for PWCS just before the opening of our 119th International Exhibition (September 4 to September 6, 2019 at the Community Arts Center in Wallingford, Pa.)
We are reaching out to invite your members to participate. We think that this is a great opportunity for all artist who use any of the media listed above to exhibit. Not only is it a prestigious exhibit but there are over $ 8500.00 in prizes including the $1500.00 PWCS Award of Excellence.
The digital entry system will begin accepting entries on April 1 and end on June 1, 2019. Our prospectus is now on our website at www.pwcsociety.org and submissions are being accepted. This exhibit is open to members and nonmembers.
