Rita Argen Auerbach: Legacy at Burchfield Penney Art Center June 9- Sept. 4, 2023

It is said that Rita is the second most recognized watercolorist in WNY after Charles Burchfield. And the BSA is honored to call her our own.
Now the Burchfield Penney Art Center will honor her with a retrospective. Let's all celebrate Rita Argen Auerbach and her decades of artwork.
Rita explains her process: “Every sheet of white paper, the genesis of each new painting, is a challenge with exciting possibilities. “Failing to plan is planning to fail,” is a memorable lesson I learned from one great teacher. It continues to delight me to work with this elusive and challenging medium and use it to create works that possess a bountiful luminous appeal."
