About Donna Jordan Dusel
Donna Jordan Dusel has been exhibiting her art and photography since 1978. Exhibition sites include: Albright-Knox Art Gallery -currently the AKG Museum, Castellani Art Museum, Burchfield-Penney Art Center, CEPA Gallery, Hallwalls, and, many others, including the Buffalo State Faculty exhibition, 2013, in Beijing, China. Accomplishments include: numerous published photos, acceptance into over 200 juried art exhibitions, representation in several prominent art collections, and over 40 photo awards. She received an "American Photographer" Award in 1984. Donna is a past Buffalo Society of Artists president. She is also a past president of the WNY branch of The National League of American Pen Women. Donna received her Masters of Arts in Humanities degree from SUNY University at Buffalo in 1978. Before retiring in 2016, She taught photography & writing courses at the college level for 36 years. Donna has participated in many public art projects, and has appeared on several television shows related to the arts. She has also curated professional art shows, as well as serving as a juror for photography exhibitions. "My 45 year photography career has changed dramatically over the past couple decades, due to the growth of digital photography. I have an appreciation for technology, as well as a love of 'traditional' photography." Donna continues to work on her on-going series "Environmental Impact" which she's photographed from 1980-2023, with photos from NY, Colorado, Southern U.S., and Australia and New Zealand. Adding to her "Environmental Impact" series -in 2022, Donna began photographing the demise of the Great Northern Grain Elevator on the Buffalo Waterfront, which she continued photographing until it's total 'sad demise' in May , 2023.
