About
Justin J.M. Higner

I am a mixed media maritime oriented artist that has been practicing in the field since 1994. I am honored to be a part of the BSA and hope to be included as an Exhibiting member one day. I have had many interesting and fun locations in displaying my piejesus , including a full solo show at the Castellani Art Museum in Lewiston , New York. They are at once both fantastical and realistic as they operate within their own world and with lore created to accommodate them. Nearly three hundred have been produced so far! There are also. several classes of liners and cargo carriers within several fleets belonging to several companies and themes, many of them with real world refferences. In addition to what I do for its own sake, I foster creativity and connections to unique materials through workshops on art and world-building I occasionally conduct with schools, service agencies, and senior living communities. I have also appeared in various media And advertising. I also depend on many fellow artists in the area and pay tribute to them within my work, often making my ships galleries within art galleries. Lately my work has paid tribute. Also too different parts of the world and are reflections of our continuing diversity, as a species. I am also a local historian and am the town historian for the Town of Wheatfield. I am also a writer putting together a novel. I often go by the title of "Commadore" whenever I have the sacred and happy honor of being able to display and share. My work can be found on Facebook groups at "Higner Maritime Artworks Since 1994" and on YouTube under my name, Justin J. M. Higner.
