About Pat Pendleton
My process-based abstract paintings are a play between activity and stillness. Layers of texture, gesture, and form aim to reveal an experience--a way to dialogue with my time and place.
Pat Pendleton utilizes acrylic paint on paper, canvas, or wood. Her work often includes elements of collage—textiles, patterns, found images--joining in a lyrical response to the moment, suggesting interior landscapes of curiosity emerging through color, line, texture, and form. A native of Western New York, she began her pursuit of various art mediums and exhibiting while residing in San Francisco, New York, and Denver prior to returning to Buffalo. She has participated in numerous local member shows, such as Hallwalls Contemporary Art Center, Carnegie Art Center, Burchfield Penney Art Center, Artspace Buffalo Gallery, Western New York Book Arts Center, CEPA and Big Orbit.
