Helen Russell will host two dinners on two Sunday afternoons, October 11 and October 25 at 2 pm (dinner at 3), scheduled just right for a drive in the country to see the fall colors, at her 1860 renovated Victorian home in the old fashioned Village of Wilson on the shore of Lake Ontario. Titled "The Impression is French," all courses will be French, starting with hors d'ouvres chaud et froid, promenading through poulet rôti à l'estragon farce duxelles (roasted chicken with tarragon and mushroom stuffing) and ending with tarte aux poires crème pâtissière glacée (pear tart with custard filling glazed with homemade apricot jam), a specialty of the house. A French accent will be feigned by Hélène Rousselle, guests’ names also will be altered, and generally everyone will be expected to put on airs. The event accommodates eight at each dinner, is $30 per person or $50 a couple, is fully booked, but someone might want to be on a waiting list. To reserve for this fundraiser, please contact Nancy Cerny, Fundraiser Chair, at 716-652-2167 or firstname.lastname@example.org, or the host. Dinners are payable in advance by sending checks to Nancy Cerny made payable to “Buffalo Society of Artists.”
