You will have 6 virtual meetings (more if desired) with 2-3 middle school students during the 2020-2021 school year. Using a sketchbook and supplies provided to the students as a focus, you could talk and inspire, teach art, share art, and have them create their own visual journals.

Students will be nominated by a Buffalo Public Schools (BPS) art teacher. BPS Director of Arts Michelle Agosto will connect us with BPS art teachers and advise us on our mentoring program. BPS requires fingerprinting and background checks for volunteers.

Brandi Cane at Buffalo Center for Arts and Technology (BCAT) will provide supplies for the students. She also offered to provide training for the mentors in using computers for virtual meetings, as part of the BCAT Volunteer program.

It would be exciting to collaborate with BPS, BCAT, and make a difference in the Buffalo community.
