The Mind’s Eye & the Eye’s Mind. More Poets at an Exhibition
A panel of poets and artists reflecting on visual art and verbal expression in art, poetry and prose and more performances of poetry inspired by Galley works. The panel will include Bob Giannetti, Helen Rogers Russell, George Grace, Michael Basinski and E. R. Baxter. George Grace will read his poems on work of Priscilla Bowen, Adele Becker and Kathleen Dworak. Bob Giannetti will read poems on the work of Lorna Berlin and Joan Hambleton. Michelle Kratts, poet and Lewiston Public Library Librarian, will read her poem on work of Rose Popper. Pianist Claudia Andres will perform piano works from the late Romantic and Impressionistic period.

New Art Experience Sessions at BPAC
Good evening. Thank you for your past interest in the Art Experience. We have set 2 new sessions at the Burchfield Penney Art Center. To accommodate busy schedules we are offering 2 parallel sessions on Thursdays (March 24 & 31 @ 6pm) and Saturdays (March 26 and April 2 @ 1pm) Retired director Ted Pietrzak will be joining the sessions. Grant Swados – Quilted Art
Kathleen McDonnell’s pastel painting “Summer Garden” was juried into the PastelSociety of America’s 37th Annual Open juried Exhibition for “Pastels Only”. TheExhibition was held at the National Arts Club Grand Gallery, New York, New York,from September 8th through September 27th. Kathleen’s pastel painting “Autumn Journey #4” was accepted into the ConnecticutPastel Society’s 16th Annual National Exhibition, “Renaissance in Pastels”. andreceived the Pastel Society of America Award. The Exhibition was held at theMattatuck Museum in Waterbury, Connecticut from October 2nd through October 25th.

A collaborative project between the Lt. Col. Matt Urban Human Service Center’s homeless services department (Hope Center) and artist, Gary L. Wolfe. The goal of this project is to raise awareness of the plight of the homeless in the City of Buffalo through portraits painted in a technique that captures not only the vulnerability and social alienation experienced by these individuals but also their human dignity and the hope that they cling to.
