“The Art of Native Plants”

Meibohm Fine Arts is preparing to host a juried exhibition to benefit the Western New York Land Conservancy. The exhibition will be held June 10 – July 29, 2017 at the East Aurora gallery. In addition to supporting the arts community in the region, Meibohm Fine Arts has a long commitment to the Land Conservancy, which permanently protects Western New York’s most cherished farmland, forests, wetlands and natural places.

The exhibition “The Art of Native Plants” will focus on the importance of native plants in the ecosystem of our area. Artwork considered for this exhibition should depict native plants, their environs, or the wildlife they support throughout the seasons. All mediums are encouraged, and framed pieces should be current original works by the artist. The Western New York Land Conservancy invites any participating artists to visit their nature preserves for inspiration. Submission deadline is May 1st, 2017, and artists may submit digital images of up to two works (including title, dimensions and medium) via email to info@meibohmfinearts.com.

The gallery will be donating half its regular commission (40%) of works sold during the exhibition to the Land Conservancy. Artists accepted into the exhibition have the option of contributing half or all of their artist commission (60%) to benefit the Land Conservancy.

Meibohm Fine Arts will also be hosting special programs in conjunction with the Land Conservancy during the exhibition dates.
