Design and Installation of Artwork
Description: The City University Construction Fund is seeking an Artist to design and install a site-specific outdoor art installation as part of the new Performing Arts Center project at Brooklyn College. The purpose of this project is to create dynamic and exciting artwork which complements and enhances the new surrounding landscape immediately adjacent to the new Performing Arts Center building. Brooklyn College is one of the City University of New York’s eleven senior colleges. The Performing Arts Center will create a new home for the Music and Theater Departments, and will consist of Performance Spaces, Practice Rooms, performance support spaces, and new site work & landscaping. BSA seeks submissions for City of Night Silos
Buffalo Society of Artists seeks submissions from all artists (one does not need to be a BSA member to submit) for City of Night Silos, a curated fine arts exhibit to be held at Silo City, Buffalo, NY during the City of Night event, August 17, 2013. City of Night, hosted by Emerging Leaders in the Arts Buffalo, is a one night art, culture, and sustainability extravaganza. 2-d work in all styles relating to the grain elevators considered. The exhibit is free to enter, and there will be a cash “People’s Choice Award” donated by the Buffalo Society of Artists. New Art Experience Sessions at BPAC
Good evening. Thank you for your past interest in the Art Experience. We have set 2 new sessions at the Burchfield Penney Art Center. To accommodate busy schedules we are offering 2 parallel sessions on Thursdays (March 24 & 31 @ 6pm) and Saturdays (March 26 and April 2 @ 1pm) Retired director Ted Pietrzak will be joining the sessions. Massier Proposal Presentation Materials
On Thursday, January 20, 2011, John Massier, curator for Hallwalls, gave a presentation for the Buffalo Society of Artists at the Burchfield Penney Art Center on how to prepare an artist’s statement and write an art proposal. This presentation was developed to assist BSA members in submitting materials for the upcoming 115th Annual Catalogue Exhibition that will be held at the UB Anderson Gallery. While we were unable to capture the entire presentation on videotape due to technical difficulties, we have uploaded on YouTube a video provided by John of his PowerPoint presentation.
