The late Buffalo artist Jeanette Blair, whose landscapes and abstractions seemed to vibrate with the thrum of nature, will be remembered in a memorial service planned for 2 p.m. March 13 at the Burchfield Penney Art Center. Across a prolific career that extended from the 1940s into the 1990s and beyond, Blair’s paintings have been featured in exhibitions in the Albright Art Gallery (now the Albright-Knox), as well as national shows in Cooperstown, Youngstown, Ohio and elsewhere. She died on Jan. 6 at 93. A showing of Blair’s art will be held immediately following the service at the Benjamin Gallery on Elmwood Ave. Forget-Me-Nots, Watercolor on paper, 1980
Robert Schulman’s photographs will be on exhibition at The Hospice Resource Center, 225 Como Park Blvd., Cheektowaga, NY 14227 (next to the former mall). The show runs through December 29, 2009. The exhibition is in the entrance foyer and halls of the center. It can be seen during the center’s regular hours: 9:00 am — 5:00 pm.
