Annual General Membership Meeting
Bring yourself up to date as your Officers and Board of Directors report on all areas of BSA involvement. This is a time to ask questions, voice comments and renew acquaintances. As a special treat, you will be given the very first viewing of an unedited portion of one of BSA’s interviews with a WNY artist. 2014 Fall Foliage Fundraiser
Have you ever thought about viewing Letchworth’s spectacular fall foliage from the air? Then you are in luck. 2014 is your chance. The Buffalo Society of Artists (BSA) is raffling off a Fall Foliage Fundraiser Flight over Letchworth State Park during the fall of 2014. The BSA is proud to offer this once-in-a-lifetime, 30-45 minute flight in a WWII era L-21 liaison aircraft (military model of the Piper Super Cub), over Letchworth State Park, the Grand Canyon of the East, during the height of fall color in October 2014. Jeanette Blair Memorial at Burchfield Penney
The late Buffalo artist Jeanette Blair, whose landscapes and abstractions seemed to vibrate with the thrum of nature, will be remembered in a memorial service planned for 2 p.m. March 13 at the Burchfield Penney Art Center. Across a prolific career that extended from the 1940s into the 1990s and beyond, Blair’s paintings have been featured in exhibitions in the Albright Art Gallery (now the Albright-Knox), as well as national shows in Cooperstown, Youngstown, Ohio and elsewhere. She died on Jan. 6 at 93. A showing of Blair’s art will be held immediately following the service at the Benjamin Gallery on Elmwood Ave. Forget-Me-Nots, Watercolor on paper, 1980
