Congratulations are in order for two BSA Exhibiting Members who have wonderful news – they’ve just been awarded grants of $10,000 each from the New York State Council on the Arts! Under the sponsorship of Arts Services, Inc. (ASI) Audrey Kay Dowling and Gary L. Wolfe were notified of this prestigious grant.

Audrey Kay Dowling was honored for her project entitled “Finding Truth” and Gary L. Wolfe was honored for his project, “Who Told You That You Were Naked?”

The awards were announced by New York State Governor Kathy Hochul as part of a 45 million dollar funding project to propel recovery in nonprofits and the arts.

Audrey Dowling is thrilled about the award- “ Finding Truth” will be hung at Portage Hill Art Gallery this summer to celebrate our 40th year and then the show will travel to the beautiful newly renovated gallery space at Western NY Book Arts in downtown Buffalo in November. The focus of the show will be celebrating the natural world of western NYS.”

Gary Wolfe on hearing the news gave thanks for this boost to complete his project, “Who Told You ThatYou Were Naked? “. “My deepest thanks to ASI and especially to its Executive Director, Jen Swan-Kirkpatrick whose guidance and encouragement were both generous and inspiring.
