Barbara Hart’s Drunk Puppet was selected for Made In New York 2023, at the Schweinfurth Art Center, Auburn, NY. Jurors were artists Gary Sczerbaniewicz, Theda Sandiford, and Kevin Larmon. Exhibit dates: March 25 – May 28, 2023
She also served as judge for the Fine Arts League 70th Annual Spring Juried Exhibition at the Kenan Center in Lockport. The exhibit will be on view from February 19 through March 26, with an opening reception on March 5 from 2 to 4pm.

Dennis Stierer’s photograph, Good Hope Picnic Grounds from his project ByPassed America, was chosen for the exhibit Forgotten. The exhibit was juried by Paula Tognarelli at the SE CENTER for Photography, 116 East Broad St. in Greenville, SC. The exhibit will hang in the main gallery from 9/1 – 9/30/2023.
BSA Studio Visits are Back!
The first summer BSA Open Studio visit after our required COVID break was held at Sally Treanor’s home studio on Saturday, June 3rd. Sally provided an overview of the build-out of the space from unheated/uncooled attic to a modern, up-to-date, purpose-built work space. Visitors saw slide-in painting storage and shelving for acid-free boxes and teaching materials. A flat file provides a framing station. The area is super-insulated with a Mitsubishi unit providing heating and cooling. Finally, color corrected, full-spectrum lighting was chosen over skylights and the whole space was rewired. Sally gave two demonstrations illustrating some of the special joys of watercolor. The first was a mini video (4.5 minutes) demo of surf and rocks.
