BSA artists Len Kagelmacher and Robert Schulman are currently exhibiting their photographs at the Octagon Gallery in the Patterson Library, Westfield, NY. The theme of the show is “An Exhibition in Rust”. They are joined in the exhibition by photographer Lori Deemer and sculptors Robert Holland and Dale Anderson. Rose Popper was honored to receive the First Place Award for her limestone sculpture entitled “Lithe” at the Western New York Artists Group’s 27th Annual Juried Members Exhibition, Modern Works. The Juror, Jozef Bajus, is a prestigious artist and Professor at SUNY Buffalo State College.
Barbara Murak’s Green Ripple was included in Small Matter 2022, 2nd biannual National Juried Exhibition, Colorado Mesa University, 437Co Art Gallery, Grand Junction, Colorado. On view until January 26, 2023. This sculpture was also awarded the Silver Medal Award, BSA 119th Catalog Show at the Buffalo Center for Arts & Technology. Crimson Column was included in the National Small Works Exhibit: Teeny, Tiny, BOLD, Rountree Gallery, Platteville, WI Exhibit runs through February 4, 2023.
Susan Explains I have good news to share with our membership that started with the BSA website artist listings! I was contacted in April by a young woman inquiring for her dad about a very special commission. Her dad’s dream was to have a landscape painting done as an “heirloom” artwork. It was a very special landscape depicting the village he was born in and the home of his ancestors, Futani, Italy. The young lady informed me that she had been searching for an artist willing to take on commission for a large (30″x48″) painting for quite some time when she was referred to the Buffalo Society of Artist’s website. After looking through the exhibiting artists profiles and featured work, she reached out to me…
