Cast, 2017, wood, plaster, barbed-wire Exhibiting Member Rich Tomasello was commissioned to create a piece for the exhibition Give Us The Vote for ArtsWestchester gallery in White Plains, NY. This show focused on voting rights in America and also marked the 100th anniversary of Women’s Suffrage in New York State. The show at ArtsWestchester runs from October 10th until January 27th. Immigration Survival Kit, 2017, cardboard, acetate, hat, make-up kit Tomasello was also selected to exhibit new work in a group pop up exhibition Into Action in Los Angeles, CA. Into Action is a show focused on activism and justice. Tomasello will be exhibiting his work alongside artists such as Swoon, Shepard Fairey, Hank Willis Thomas, Zoe Buckman, Michael Murphy, and more.

Susan Explains I have good news to share with our membership that started with the BSA website artist listings! I was contacted in April by a young woman inquiring for her dad about a very special commission. Her dad’s dream was to have a landscape painting done as an “heirloom” artwork. It was a very special landscape depicting the village he was born in and the home of his ancestors, Futani, Italy. The young lady informed me that she had been searching for an artist willing to take on commission for a large (30″x48″) painting for quite some time when she was referred to the Buffalo Society of Artist’s website.
