Lawrence Kinney will receive the Arts Services Initiative of Western New York’s “Rising Star Spark Award”
Lawrence Kinney will receive the Arts Services Initiative (ASI) of Western New York’s “Rising Star Spark Award” on behalf of the University Heights Arts Association (UHAA), an organization which he co-founded and serves as Co-Executive Director at its third annual Spark Cultural Awards celebration on May 25 at the Hotel @ the Lafayette. http://www.asiwny.org/cultural-awards/ The award recognizes the UHAA and its contributions as a relatively new organization. In 2015 Kinney developed a sculpture garden for the group from an abandoned lot which now hosts the work of eight sculptors per year plus poetry reading series and small performances. Collectively, the UHAA’s programs served 2,427 children and families last year. The Spark Awards honor and celebrate “those who ignite arts and culture.”
