Joan Turrell’s Artist Books, CAPTURING AUTUMN and WINTER VISION, were displayed at The Poetry Collection, Capen Library, University of Buffalo at the North Campus on September 27, 2011. This was the publication launch of Robert Giannetti’s book of Poems, Winter Vision. One of the pastel paintings from the the artist’s book, WINTER VISION is on the cover of the newly released book of poems. Both artist’s books were an interpretation of Robert Giannetti poetry and Joan’s view of nature.

BSA Studio Visits are Back!
The first summer BSA Open Studio visit after our required COVID break was held at Sally Treanor’s home studio on Saturday, June 3rd. Sally provided an overview of the build-out of the space from unheated/uncooled attic to a modern, up-to-date, purpose-built work space. Visitors saw slide-in painting storage and shelving for acid-free boxes and teaching materials. A flat file provides a framing station. The area is super-insulated with a Mitsubishi unit providing heating and cooling. Finally, color corrected, full-spectrum lighting was chosen over skylights and the whole space was rewired.
