Mike Killelea won first prize in the Canandaigua “Paint the Town” plein air event.
At the head of Lake Canandaigua there are an awful lot of great places to paint. He chose the imposing former railroad station, closed in 1960, but now open as a restaurant and a bar.
Heather Lynn Harris, artist, author and illustrator, was selected by the toy company PlayMonster to illustrate a series of 6 picture books that translate the characters and world of their newest toy line into books. The books, for children ages 1-5, are combined with a toy — a glow-in-the-dark bug — that focuses on teaching social and emotional lessons. The first 3 books launched Nov. 1 and are sold online at Amazon. The remaining 3 books will launch spring 2023.
George Grace will be releasing his fourth collection of poetry, A Hastening Countdown from Infinity in late April.
B.S.A. artist Steve Siegel was recently nominated as a finalist for the prestigious Black and White Spider Award in the category of Architectural Photography. This was his 4th consecutive Spider Award nomination.
Fotini will be showing her work, “Abundance of Detail,” at the Burchfield Penney Art Center, beginning February 11 and running through August 14, 2011.
Kathleen Dworak had a painting accepted into the Rockies West National Watercolor Exhibition. The show runs from March 1st to April 6th in Grand Junction, Colorado.
