Paula Sćiuk has been collaborating with Kathy Shiroki at the Burchfield Penney developing a series of sessions with innovative team members (scholars, dancers, sculptures, and installation artists) developing experiences around the theme of the senses. The sessions will be held at the BPAC in the month of April.

Reworking Sense: A 4-part series at the Burchfield Penney Art Center

Explore touch through light; alter sound; smell a memory. The senses are interwoven experiences that enhance our lives. This series has been developed for participants to explore the senses in new and innovative ways, to enhance and heighten awareness, and to examine the layering of the senses in unusual combinations.

A diverse team composed of scholars, creative artists, and curious individuals have collaborated to develop this series of 4 sessions. They designed their sessions around themes of Memory, Light, Color, Texture, Vibration, and Temperature that touch upon several core senses, Sight, Sound, Touch, and Hearing.

Participants are welcome to join one session or attend the whole series. The sessions are for adult audiences and high school students. It is recommended to bring a sketchbook or journal to use throughout the series. All other supplies will be provided.

Registration on the website is required. Coming soon.
