Bravo to Phyllis Thompson! Phyllis recently completed a six-week residency at the Albright-Knox Northland during the exhibition Herve Tullet: Shape and Color. While in residence she completed a 10’ x 15’ mural on Polytab, titled Nurturer. Themes that embody her mural include Memories, Nurturing, Ancestral Legacy, and Father/Daughter Relationships.

The mural is installed on a wall at 714 Northland Avenue with the murals of resident artists Max Collins, Fotini Galanes, Julia Bottoms, Rachel Shelton, and Tricia Butski.

BSA Exhibiting Member William McCullagh wins “Best in Show”

BSA Exhibiting Member William McCullagh won the “Best in Show” award for an acrylic piece entitled “FDNY Engine 42, Tim’s Truck” at the Williamsville Art Society Holiday Show. Awards were presented at a reception held on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at the Amherst Center for Senior Services. Judge Donald Siuta chose work in four categories, acrylic, oil, watercolor, and other; as well as the “Judge’s Award” and “Best in Show”.
