Priscilla Bowen and Gary L. Wolfe have collaborated to create a piece of original artwork for the ERIE (Ecosystem Restoration through Interdisciplinary Exchange) project which will be on exhibition during an artists reception to be held at the UB Center for the Arts on Friday, August 7, 2009 from 5 to 7 pm..

ERIE is a new interdisciplinary doctoral education, research and training program to advance ecosystem science, engineering and policy while contributing to the ecological recovery of the Great Lakes and Western New York. The project involves the collaboration of multiple University of Buffalo Departments including Civil (Environmental) Engineering. American Studies (Native American), Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Geography, Geological Sciences and Philosophy.

Due to the highly collaborative nature of this program Gary and Priscilla felt it was important that the artwork created for the project reflect a collaborative process as well. After the reception the work will be hung in the ERIE office, 202 Jarvis Hall on UB’s North Campus.
