122nd Annual Catalogue Exhibition Opens At Artist Group Gallery
BSA’s 122nd Anuual Catalogue Exhibition opened at Artist Group Gallery, One Linwood Avenue, Buffalo on October 5th. Of the 157 submissions, 57 works were selected by juror Martin Kruck. Kruck wrote, “Most of these showcase exhiberant, vivid qualities with a sense of movement or material handling that borders on energized. Otheres are still, contemplative, and a little arresting, like a layer of everyday seeing has been replaced with something new. And then there are those so odd, quirky, or humorous they have to be given some light. Mary Wyrick Opens at The Carnegie
Mary Wyrick will be showing recent paintings in the East Gallery at the Carnegie Art Center on 240 Goundry in North Tonawanda, NY., April 4 – April 26. The exhibit was the first place award at the 2018 Member’s Show for Accordion Solo, acrylic on canvas. Wyrick’s paintings are based on old photographs of beauty pageants, picnics, and parades. An opening reception, with music by “Baci e Ceci,” will be held Thursday April 4, 6:30 – 8:30. An Artists’ Talk will be held Saturday April 13, 1:00 – 2:30, with Eric Evinczik, who is also showing recent paintings in the North Gallery.
