A solo show of Susan Copley’s work and book signing of the new book, Then and Now, Four Decades of Painting will open at
1045 Elmwood, October 5th, First Friday, from 6 to 9 pm.
The book describes in chapter form the twists and turns of her work. It begins in 1978 when she received her Masters Degree in Painting from the University of Buffalo and ending with current works of the last few years.
Gerald Mead presented a lecture “A Passion for Collecting Art” at the Garret Club in Buffalo on February 9 (coordinated by Catherine Tillou) and at Canterbury Woods Gates Circle on March 8. He also juried the entries for the upcoming American Craftsman Artisan Festival at the Kenan Center and judged the West Seneca School District Annual Student Exhibition.
Mary Wyrick will be showing recent paintings in the East Gallery at the Carnegie Art Center on 240 Goundry in North Tonawanda, NY., April 4 – April 26. The exhibit was the first place award at the 2018 Member’s Show for Accordion Solo, acrylic on canvas. Wyrick’s paintings are based on old photographs of beauty pageants, picnics, and parades. An opening reception, with music by “Baci e Ceci,” will be held Thursday April 4, 6:30 – 8:30. An Artists’ Talk will be held Saturday April 13, 1:00 – 2:30, with Eric Evinczik, who is also showing recent paintings in the North Gallery.
