Made in NY 2018 Apr 20, 2018 – Jun 17, 2018 Made in NY is an annual juried exhibition which features artwork by artists residing in New York State. The exhibit is open to all mediums, such as photography, sculpture, ceramics, painting, drawing, fiber, installation and video. Prizes will be awarded, including $1,000 for Best of Show. Jurors determine the prizes after the installation. The artists’ reception was on Friday, April 20, with prizes awarded at 6 p.m. Jurors for this year’s exhibit include Sharif Bey, Associate Professor of Art at Syracuse University; Sarah McCoubrey, Professor of Studio Arts at Syracuse University; and Miranda Traudt, Director of Arts Programming at Oswego University. Opening reception is Friday, July 14th from 7:30-9 pm at the Artists Group Gallery, One Linwood Avenue, Buffalo. The exhibition will continue through August 18th. In 2013, BSA artist Gary L. Wolfe debuted an exhibition of his work that was two years in creating. The primary goal of the project was to raise public awareness of the plight of those who were homeless s through portraits painted in a technique that captured not only the vulnerability and social alienation experienced by these individuals, but also their human dignity and the hope to which they cling. St. Bonaventure University is happy to be able to bring the exhibition back together to present it to a new audience.
