Spring is here, and with it, our 2013 Spring Show! Many thanks need to be extended to Vice President of Exhibitions, Mark Lavatelli, for the wonderful work he did in putting such a great variety of styles and work together into such a beautifully cohesive and coherent show.

Likewise, much gratitude is extended to Past President Beth Pedersen, Vice President Paula Sciuk, former Board Member Patti Harris and Jamie Card for all of their help during the jurying, intake and installation, and the opening itself. We are also extremely grateful for the generosity of Christopher Kelly and the Karpeles Manuscript Library Museums for the use of their beautiful space, and to Zerbe Sodervick, Director of Gallery r and the Extended Studies program within the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences at RIT for her thoughtful choices for this show!

Over the coming months, we will have many other opportunities for our members to exhibit their work; through our Open Member Show in the summer as well as new collaboration with Larkin Square for plein air painting dates, and through possibilities for members to exhibit their work at Larkin at Exchange (both options to be advertised soon). We will also revisit our cooperative Art Show at the Frank Lloyd Wright Fontana’s Boat House and of course, our Fall Catalog Exhibition.

Through these exhibition possibilities as well as upcoming fundraising parties and developing workshops, we will not only continue to grow our organization as the historically vibrant and relevant entity that it is, but also strengthen the bond between its constituent members and broaden our opportunities to enjoy each other as friends and colleagues!

Sincerely,
Richard W. Christian II
