Heather Lynn Harris Creates 6 Picture Books for Toy Company

Heather Lynn Harris, artist, author and illustrator, was selected by the toy company PlayMonster to illustrate a series of 6 picture books that translate the characters and world of their newest toy line into books. The books, for children ages 1-5, are combined with a toy — a glow-in-the-dark bug — that focuses on teaching social and emotional lessons. The first 3 books launched Nov. 1 and are sold online at Amazon. The remaining 3 books will launch spring 2023.

Fitz Books Features Thomas Matyas’ Levers of Reference

The Lever of Reference: Sculpture, Paintings and Works on Paper by Thomas Matyas, will be on view at Fitz Books from February 3rd to February 28th, 2023. There will be an opening reception on Friday, February 3rd from 6-8 pm. Fitz Books is located at 433 Ellicott St, Buffalo NY 14203. Barbara Murak’s Green Ripple was included in Small Matter 2022, 2nd biannual National Juried Exhibition, Colorado Mesa University, 437Co Art Gallery, Grand Junction, Colorado. On view until January 26, 2023. This sculpture was also awarded the Silver Medal Award, BSA 119th Catalog Show at the Buffalo Center for Arts & Technology. Crimson Column was included in the National Small Works Exhibit: Teeny, Tiny, BOLD, Rountree Gallery, Platteville, WI Exhibit runs through February 4, 2023.
