A solo exhibit of paintings by Lockport’s Joseph Whalen will take place at the Kenan Center House Gallery, January 10 through February 21. The show will open with a free public reception, Sunday, January 10 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. The gallery is open Monday-Friday, noon to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays, 2:00-5:00 p.m. The gallery will be closed January 18. Admission is free. Joseph Whalen’s new book, WHALEN: A HUNDRED PAINTINGS, will be available for purchase during the exhibit. The cost of the book is $35. January 2010 BSA Newsletter (PDF) In the last few years, as most of you know, we have expanded our reach and operations in our quest to make ourselves more relevant—both to our members as well as to the Western New York arts community. It has been no cakewalk on either front, requiring as it does, dedication to the value of art generally, and to the value of the art produced by our members specifically.
