Congratulations to Mike Randall who is celebrating 50 years performing as Mark Twain.

Mike actually started channeling Twain at the tender age of seventeen and at age 20 gave a command performance at the State Department in Washington D.C.In more than two thousand performances Randall has brought his act to dinner theaters, opera houses, schools, colleges, museums, etc. all around the country.

“Mark Twain Live” has been formally acknowledged by the Daughters of the American Revolution for its authenticity and Mike is the official “Mark Twain” of The Annual Huck Finn Jubilee in Victorville, California.
Mike’s other acclaimed solo show is Charles Dickens Presents: A Christmas Carol.
And….. Mike fits all of this in while bringing us local news and weather on WKBW TV and working on his artwork.

Mark Twain Live” opens at the Riviera Theater Saturday, May 14 and the 50th Anniversary Show is set for May 17th.

The first sculpture, funded by a grant from the KaBOOM! Play Everywhere Challenge supported by the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation, was recently unveiled at the BRRAlliance Community Garden, at the corner of Farmer and Guernsey streets in Black Rock. The life-size, grinning pig sculpture reflects a portion of the history of the Black Rock neighborhood, where a livestock path leading from the village to nearby farmlands once stood. Ruth Mohn in Painting for Preservation Exhibit

Ruth Mohn will be represented with 3 of her works accepted in the Painting for Preservation exhibit to be held in the Hotel Statler on November 14. This is in conjunction with the current National Preservation Conference. Ruth’s works depict the Buffalo waterfront ca. 1960, and consists of two photographs – one of the Edward Cotter fireboat and the other of tugboats in the Buffalo Harbor. Also accepted was a pastel of the Grain Elevators.
