The Lever of Reference: Sculpture, Paintings and Works on Paper by Thomas Matyas, will be on view at Fitz Books from February 3rd to February 28th, 2023.
There will be an opening reception on Friday, February 3rd from 6-8 pm.

Brian Porter Commissioned to Create Bronze Santa Sculpture
Brian Porter was commissioned to create the Charles W. Howard Santa Sculpture by The Albion Betterment Committee of Albion, New York. Charles W. Howard (1896-1966) was an American actor, teacher and founder of the first Santa Claus School, Albion, NY 1937. He was the Macy’s parade Santa Claus for 18 years, from 1948-1965. The unveiling ceremony took place Saturday June 10th, 2023 in downtown Albion, New York, after the town annual Strawberry Festival parade. Press coverage was published in the “Orleans Hub.”
Jane Foley Ferraro’s Work in the Maryland Federation of Art’s 5th Annual Exhibition
Cloud Burst, an acrylic painting by Jane Foley Ferraro, was accepted into the Maryland Federation of Art’s 5th annual exhibition Stormy Weather. Submissions from 17 states and Washington D.C. totaled 214 artworks from 85 artists. Juror R. Barry Shauck’s selection of 74 works by 47 artists may be viewed on MFA’s online Curve Gallery from August 15 – September 30.
Mark Lavatelli Opens at WNY Book Arts

Professor of Art at Medaille College, he is known for encaustic painting, often using images of trees. He has participated in numerous artist residencies and writes art criticism.? Mark’s artworks feature encaustic monotype prints and collaged prints, emphasizing the beauty of tree structures, trunks, branches and the realities of environmental threats the trees encounter.

Jane Foley Ferraro Wins Painting Award
Jane Foley Ferraro was awarded third place abstract for her painting Echoes Softly Pace in the June Bold Brush Painting Competition sponsored by FASO (Fine Art Studio Online) and judged by Kyle Stuckey.
