Rose Popper Creates Lenten Project for Church

Rose Popper created a sculpted chicken wire form of the body of Christ for the Lenten project, “Rebuilding the Body of Christ, 2023,” St. Joseph University Parish in Buffalo, NY.
Parishioners complete the body of Christ by writing what they did during each week to celebrate Lent and placing the paper in the glass bowl in the sanctuary. Volunteers place the strips of paper into the wire frame of Christ, filling the corpus with the paper, visually building the Body of Christ.
This Lenten project was originally done in 2014 and again started in 2020 with a similar theme. Due to the Corona Virus, the project was not completed.
