Burchfield Penney Art CenterNow Recruiting Docents for the 2011 Docent Class Join the group on Sunday, May 23rd at 3:00 p.m. to learn about becoming a Burchfield Penney Docent. As a highly trained guide and ambassador for the museum, you will learn how to lead tours with children, students, corporate groups and social clubs. Starting this September, the new Docent Class will meet weekly on Tuesday mornings until their graduation in spring 2011. Grant Swados – Quilted Art

Kathleen McDonnell’s pastel painting “Summer Garden” was juried into the PastelSociety of America’s 37th Annual Open juried Exhibition for “Pastels Only”. TheExhibition was held at the National Arts Club Grand Gallery, New York, New York,from September 8th through September 27th. Kathleen’s pastel painting “Autumn Journey #4” was accepted into the ConnecticutPastel Society’s 16th Annual National Exhibition, “Renaissance in Pastels”. andreceived the Pastel Society of America Award. The Exhibition was held at theMattatuck Museum in Waterbury, Connecticut from October 2nd through October 25th.
