The Buffalo Society of Artists First International Poetry Festival At Artpark What: The First Buffalo Society of Artists International Poetry Festival at Artpark, featuring four Canadian and ten American Poets. When: Sunday July 31, noon to four-thirty. Where: Just outside the Artpark Gallery of the Buffalo Society of Artists, Lewiston, NY. If rain, the festival will move inside the gallery. Additional: This will run concurrently with a wine-tasting. The Gallery will provide some chairs but those attending are advised to bring their own. Non-alcoholic refreshments will be provided. The Buffalo Society of Artists Gallery at Artpark (450 S. Fourth St. in Lewiston) is now open daily Tuesdays through Fridays from 1pm-4pm. The Gallery will also be open before and during intermission of selected events and concerts during the summer season. Be sure to see the work of the society’s exhibiting artists, which will be on display until August 5, 2011. Some of our Exhibiting Members from the ‘northtowns,’ with work in the gallery are Paula Sciuk, Dennis Stierer, Joan Turrell, Lynda Juel and Jennifer Kursten. On August 8th , the gallery will exhibit the Open Members Show which will hang though Labor Day. Buffalo Society of Artists Gallery at Artpark is proud to host the ‘Pre-concert Talk’ by Mattthew Kraemer, Associate conductor of the Buffalo Philharmonic. July 21@ 6:15pm in the gallery at Artpark. The 7pm program is entitled “The Best of Italian Opera,” and will include works by Puccini, Verdi and Mascagni.

Bring yourself up to date as your Officers and Board of Directors report on all areas of BSA involvement. This is a time to ask questions, voice comments and renew acquaintances. As a special treat, you will be given the very first viewing of an unedited portion of one of BSA’s interviews with a WNY artist. As you all know, this is the Video Archive Project that BSA created in collaboration with the Burchfield Penney Art Center. It is now in full swing and we would like to give you a glimpse of the direction we are moving.

Good evening. Thank you for your past interest in the Art Experience. We have set 2 new sessions at the Burchfield Penney Art Center. To accommodate busy schedules we are offering 2 parallel sessions on Thursdays (March 24 & 31 @ 6pm) and Saturdays (March 26 and April 2 @ 1pm) Retired director Ted Pietrzak will be joining the sessions. I have attached a flyer with all the details. Please indicate your interest by return email.
