Exhibitions Reminders: The BSA Open Exhibition at the Carnegie Art Center closes on Saturday, July 17th. Pick-up of all artwork is one day only from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July, 18th. The 114th Annual Catalog Exhibition will close on September 5th. Pick-up of all artwork is Tues., September 7, 1-5 PM and Wed., Sept. 8, 10-2 PM. Next exhibitions meeting is on September 14th at 6:30 P.M. at 8289 Old Post Road E., Clarence. Any member interested in joining this stellar group is welcome. Changing technology, local economics, members’ expectations and an expanding art community in Western New York have all had some impact on how the BSA does business today and how it will continue to do business in the coming years. In order to address these issues directly and with wisdom, the Board voted in June to retain the services of Ted Pietrzak, the former Director of the Burchfield Penney Art Center (BPAC) who is now working in his own consulting firm that “serves the communication, development, governance and management needs of not-for-profit organizations.” Ted was chosen because of his knowledge and long-time support for BSA as well as for his solid reputation in and connection to the local arts community. The Buffalo Society of Artists First International Poetry Festival At Artpark What: The First Buffalo Society of Artists International Poetry Festival at Artpark, featuring four Canadian and ten American Poets. When: Sunday July 31, noon to four-thirty. Where: Just outside the Artpark Gallery of the Buffalo Society of Artists, Lewiston, NY. If rain, the festival will move inside the gallery. Additional: This will run concurrently with a wine-tasting. The Gallery will provide some chairs but those attending are advised to bring their own. Non-alcoholic refreshments will be provided.
