Trilogies XX – The Work of Three Artists: Eileen Graetz, George Miller and Bill Wilson

Read Lake Erie Living magazine article by Amber Matheson.

Opening reception – Friday, June 4, 2010, from 7:30 to 9pm
On view through: Friday, July 9, 2010

Eileen Graetz comes from a long line of artists. Her father and her grandparents were all painters. She studied art at the State University of New York at Buffalo where she received her B.F.A. in painting. Because Georgia O’Keefe had long been an inspiration for her painting, she went to New Mexico to take photographs to use as reference for her own paintings, and found new inspiration in photography. Her recent works depict urban landscapes, finding a unique beauty in abandoned buildings and decay. Through digital manipulation, she has found that she can still achieve the painterly effect that was her first love.
