Gerald Mead honored in CEPA Gallery Big Orbit Members Exhibition.
4 JI from the Mining the Archive Series, mixed media Gerald Mead’s mixed media collages with be included in two exhibitions at the Rochester Contemporary Art Center in Rochester, NY. Two of his works were selected for the juried exhibition Cut and Paste on view April 5 to May 10 with a reception on April 5 from 6 – 9 pm. He was also invited to be a celebrity artist for their “6x6x2019” exhibition on view June 1 to July 14 with an opening reception on June 1 from 4 to 10 pm. Gerald also recently judged the WNY Stem Hub’s Mission Patch Design Competition for a student designed patch that will travel on NASA’s Mission 13 to the International Space Station.

In the meta-physical sense, GIMME SHELTER also refers to a very different set of constructs, those being ideas or theories containing various conceptual elements, typically considered to be subjective and not based upon empirical evidence. Kathleen McDonnell’s pastel painting, “Peace” was accepted for the Pastel Painters of Maine’s 12th International Juried Exhibition, “Pastels Only” to be held at Heartwood College of Art, Kennebunk, Maine from June 17 to July 16, 2011. The opening reception is June 17th from 5-7 PM. Kathleen was also selected to exhibit in the “Pastels by Invitation, A Significant Exhibition of Exceptional Artwork . Gerald Mead has a 30-year survey of his work on view in the Norine Spurling Memorial Gallery at Canterbury Woods (Williamsville) through November 14 and his work will be included in the exhibition “Five Years of Mirabo Press” at Mirabo Press (Buffalo) from November 16 to December 31. He juried the “77th Regional Exhibition” (Arnot Art Museum, Elmira, NY), was appointed to the Roswell Park Art Committee, and was invited to serve as the Honorary Advisory Board Chair of the West Seneca School District Academy of Visual Arts.
