About Brian Porter
Brian Porter
The lifelong pursuit of the craft of drawing, painting, design and sculpture. A BFA (SUNY Buffalo) with a background in design and MFA (New York Academy of Art) in drawing, painting and sculpture has provided a sound ground to explore the human condition in his studio in Western New York State.
Brian is a professor of art and former Chairman of the Humanities department at SUNY Erie/North campus, Williamsville, NY. Brian's work is collected by private and public patrons and his large scale public bronzes have attracted local and national attention.
Brian’s artwork is a part of the the White House Save Americas Treasures/National Trust for Historic Preservation. Honorary Chair - Hillary Rodham Clinton, the Art Renewal Center competition collection and Seavest collection. He has won numerous awards and honors including the Portrait Society of America, Buffalo Society of Artists, Rochester Art Club and a variety of local and national exhibitions. You can chat with him usually drawing from life in his studios attempting to scratch out a good hand drawing.
