Cassandra Ott

About
Cassandra Ott

Through a variety of mixed media, I create lighthearted and bright artistic explorations that take shape as fine art, murals and pattern design. Play and color are at the foundation of my practice, and while the range of imagery is wide, themes of beauty, memory, and perspective are common threads. My work is intended to provide spaces for the eyes and mind to recharge and reset - visual antidotes to offset the negativity present in our current climate. The imagery oscillates between minimal and ornate, but is unified by a passion for color and a desire to create moments of respite for viewers in an effort to rekindle hope and optimism.

An eternal optimist and quiet observer, artist Cassandra Ott grew up in a creative and entrepreneurial household surrounded by her mother’s textile collection and father’s architectural renderings. Her lighthearted and bright artistic explorations take shape across a variety of fine art media and surface pattern design. Cassandra’s love of puzzles, pattern, photography and nature are evident in all facets of her work. While the range of imagery is wide, themes of beauty, memory and optimism are common threads. A designer by trade she runs a creative studio helping clients with a broad range of print design services. Not too serious, but extremely driven, she approaches each project with a sense of wonder and possibility. Cassandra currently lives in beautiful Buffalo, NY with her husband, son and three cats.

  • Pick Me Up, 2019 - Garden Walk Buffalo and the Elmwood Village Association sought to create a vibrant floral mural to celebrate their 25th Anniversary. My design highlights recognizable and imagined flowers together in an energetic arrangement. This was my first mural, and it has quickly become an anchor in the neighborhood and is adored by the community, young and old alike.
