June 21 – Performances of poetry by regional writers inspired by Gallery works by the Buffalo Society of Artists. Inspired by the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra performance of Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition” on Saturday, August 1. Featured will be Michael Basinski, Poet and Director of the UB Poetry Collection on work of Sarah Prochownick and Joan Turrell; poet and author E. R. Baxter on all the pictures at the exhibition including work by Linda Parlato; Bob Borgatti, poet and Slipstream editor on work of Irene Haupt; Bob Giannetti, co–sponsor of the program and owner of Bob’s Olde Books, on work of Helen Rogers Russell and Fran Noonan; Norah Perez, novelist and prose poet, on work of Pat Fortunato and James Sedwick; Dan Sicoli, poet and Slipstream editor on work of Beth Pedersen; Brother Augustine Towey, poet and Niagara University Theatre Director Emeritus on work of Patti Harris. Pianist Claudia Andres will perform piano selections from Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.

Patti Harris – EXHIBITION
Patti Harris is having a solo exhibition, called PERSPECTIVE, at a new gallery, Buffalo Artscape, located at 569 Elmwood Ave. (between Lexington and Utica). Joan Fitzgerald Award and Exhibitions
Joan Fitzgerald‘s collage “Through Any Other Door” received an award in the National Collage Society’s 27th Annual Juried Internet Exhibition on view from November 1st. She exhibited a painting “Harbor Lights” in the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club’s 115th Annual Open Juried Exhibition at the National Arts Club, New York City. BSA Spring Show Award Winners at Big Orbit
Sandra Orlando-Vanich won the First Place Award, the Past Presidents’ Award, in the Buffalo Society of Artists Spring Show at the Big Orbit Gallery for her oil, “Prisim”. Norman Hornung won the Second Place Award, the Socrates Educational Consultants Award, for his digital collage print on metallic paper, “Vortex”. Susan Miller won the Third Place Award, the See Feel Hear Touch Learn – Experience Art Award, for her watercolor and gouache, “Approaching Oneness”. Linda Toomey won the Print Leader Digital Print Award for her gouache, “Marsh Reflections”. Cindi Cherko O’Mara won Honorable Mention, the Elmwood Framing and Interiors Award, for her colored pencil, “I-E #1”.
