Artist Forum at Arts Council for Wyoming County Focuses on Fiber Art Practice

BSA Exhibiting Artist, Curator and Educator Tami Fuller will join Roycroft Master Weaver Kathy Cairns Hendershott, Pilar McKay, PhD. and Shepherdess and Artist Tammy White of Wing and a Prayer Farm to discuss practice, process, philosophy on Friday, April 26 in the council's exhibition gallery as the launch of the council's annual Fiber Flurry Arts Festival. The panel will begin at 1 p.m. with remarks by the artists. The forum will be followed by Friday evening workshops by Fuller and White.
This forum is part of "Different Fibers," "Different Fibers," the Fiber Flurry inaugural fiber art exhibition showcasing fiber art and fiber-"adjacent" work from WNY regional artists curated around the council's 2024 theme of "Different." Works by BSA Artists Gerald Mead and Audrey Dowling and Friend of the BSA Ellen Owns are on view as part of this exhibit through 4pm Saturday, April 27. The festival will conclude with awards presentation and a closing reception at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
White will also present the festival's keynote on Saturday afternoon, leading attendees on a journey of exploring the world of botanical color and her experience working with Chilean artist, Cecilia Vicuña, as part of her installation and interactive exhibit at the Guggenheim Museum in New York City in 2022.
