Paint the Black Rock Lock

Join Painting for Preservation at the Black Rock Lock for a very unique on-site art-making opportunity. Artists of all mediums welcome. The Black Rock Historical Society has been working with the Army Corps of Engineers on an event in August to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the opening of the Black Rock Lock.

The date for painting is Saturday, July 12th from 9am to 1pm.

You MUST sign up ahead of time for this event (a Facebook reply is good enough) as we must provide a list of attendees to the Corps of Engineers. You MUST bring your driver's license with you (they will hold on to it until you leave).

Exhibition Opportunity: The Corps has also given permission for artists to have the opportunity to display their paintings, photos, drawings of the Lock in an exhibit, and for sale if you like, during the Corps' open house on August 17th.
