George Palmer

George Palmer is a graduate of the Albright Art School and received his BFA degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He studied at the Art Students League in New York City where he began painting on commission. After returning to Buffalo he opened a studio and gallery where he exhibited the work on Western New York Artists. He has painted many executive and family portraits during the past thirty years. Portrait painting has always been a challenge and is an exciting pursuit for him. His more creative works have been shown in numerous one person and group exhibits. His portraits hang in many corporate offices and private homes.He demonstrates portraiture and conducts figure workshops for art societies and various groups in the Buffalo area and beyond. Mr. Palmer has taught classes at Genesee Community College, D'Youville College, Erie Community College and the Kenan Center as well as private classes at his studio. Because he works with diverse subjects, figures, collage and abstractions, he is called upon to serve as judge for numerous art exhibitions. Mr. Palmer's work is included in the collections of Westwood Pharmaceuticals, Daemon College, Canisius College, The University of Buffalo Medical School, Exchange Mutual lnc., and Welch Foods. Over the years he has painted portraits of Lucille Ball, James Whitmore, Michael Bennett, Mark Russell and Bob Smith for the Shea's Buffalo Theater Hall of Fame Collection.
