About Karla J Levi
I have been an active member of the Buffalo, New York photographic and visual arts community for over 28 years. While the majority of my work is in black & white, I've begun to capture the colors of the world when I travel. I must say - I never thought that I would come to enjoy, and derive a great deal of artistic pleasure and satisfaction from, color photography!
I have never been content to "rest on my laurels." I'm always eager to explore new subject matter for my photographs and new ways to present my images. In 2009, one of my dreams came true when my book, Sign Stories, containing over 50 of my photographs of advertising signage in thbe City of Buffalo, was published by Western New York Wares, Inc.
Although the subject matter of my work is wide- ranging, I specialize in photographs that explore the structural elements inherent in both nature, landscape, and architecture. No matter what image comprises an individual photograph, my eye- and lens- are always focused on composition, detail, and the interplay of light and shadow. It is my wish that you will find my photographs a pleasure to view time and time again.
